Tonight, I walked down 5th Avenue gazing at the city lights, and I thought "I'm thankful for this. I'm thankful for feeling so alive in such a breaktaking city."
I walked a few more blocks, letting my mind wander, and felt a smile creep across my face. Without intending it, my mind just wanders to you. It wanders to bright nights and city life, but it is always you by my side. It's the possibility of an adventure with you that puts stars in my eyes. For the past five years, it's the excitement of a series of moments with you that makes me feel like I'm living.
It's a rare thing to find someone who motivates me to rise in the morning when the bed is so very comfortable and sucks me in deeper. I cling so tightly to you because the thought of being with you pulls me from my slumber, and sleep is restless when you are not here. Dreams of the life awaiting us keep me up at night because I cannot simply turn to hear you give voice to those dreams too. But I know that you dream of this life here with me as I do although you are miles away. This is what eventually evades my thoughts as sleep finally overtakes me late in the night.
